I was lucky enough to spend many happy hours with Bob talking Art and painting and have many wonderful stories , he had become very reclusive when I first encountered him and I am glad to say my husband and I enticed him out of the house and encouraged him to allow visitors to go and talk with him We have two paintings of his and three of Dorothy’s books he took a shine to me and said I reminded him of Dorothy. I did a drawing for him and we corresponded for years I still have his letters, a truly amazing gentleman.
One day he got Suzanne to play the whole of a concerto for us in his little home. Unbelievable and surreal.

Dear Mario, I am not sure if this is the appropriate place to contact you but after reading the above about your cancer I felt this would be a way of contacting you as I could not find an e-mail address for you. I think I am right that we knew each other back in the 70’s when you lived at Farnham in Dorset with your mother and I lived in Tollard Royal with my parents, I have a brother called Ken, we all spent time together when you were home in the holidays from Rugby. I love you being bored on a Sunday afternoon and reading my blog and finding yourself featured. If you would really like to appear in one of my thriller/love stories I am sure something can be arranged! Now all I need is a plot. Maybe some sort of scam/Ponzi scheme caper might fill the bill? Do you wish to retain your real name or be called something exotic like Saida?? I am open to suggestions….

I’m particularly pleased by the positive response of female readers like you and your daughter to my books, as the books themselves are packaged to look like out-and-out thrillers, whereas in fact they are character-driven love stories with what one might call a metaphysical twist.
